I will be brief today. For the first time in almost 20 years I will not be at the cemetery to honor my comrades. My knee just can’t take the hobble after the surgery. And consequently I will not be speaking to the crowd for the first time in over five years at Resurrection Cemetery.
That makes me a bit sad. I love and cherish my comrades, known and unknown, who gave their all to keep me free. I honor them no less due to my physical condition, but today I must do it from my home.
Please take some time today to honor the men and women who gave their lives to keep us ensconced in freedom. They paid a heavy price. Do not let it be in vain. Fight for your rights. Fight tyranny. Fight oppression. Fight injustice.
And remember them today.
The ceremony at Resurrection wasn’t the same without you there! Hope you’re up and about soon! Nancy B
I will be back next year, healing rapidly.
Heal up there Joe!! Stormy looks like she wants to take a walk! God’s blessings to you for rapid recuperation and total healing. Oh, and let the Coca Cola attack metal spoons and not your stomach for awhile! haha!
She’s always up for something. And the Coke is a once-a-day-treat.
Thanks for the blessings. Healing well.
