It helps a lot if you\u00a0talk about how you enjoyed the book on your Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads accounts. \u00a0Your chatting, even for a paragraph, about this great book you read, will let others know that someone they trust liked the book. If you’d be so kind as to include this link:\u00a0 it will direct your friends to a single page with all the purchase options. <\/p>\n The second, and possibly most important, thing you can do is to review the book. I am asking only for honest reviews. If you hated it, say so. If you loved it, say so. Don’t mince words, but please review it. The reason is simple: the more reviews a book gets, the higher it appears in the search engines of the retailers. Two reviews is death. Ten reviews is okay. Forty reviews means a lot more people see the book when they search for a new read. If you break 100 reviews you are in author heaven.<\/p>\n Three sites are the best for reviews: www.amazon.com<\/a> \u00a0 \u00a0 www.goodreads.com<\/a> www.barnesandnoble.com<\/a>. You have to have a membership to each site to review a book, but it is free. It does, however, take a day to set it up and have it go live. Please do that right away and review the book before you move on with life. I personally write one review and cut and paste it on all three sites. Easy to do, lets others know how you feel, helps me as an author.<\/p>\n Word of mouth. Tell your friends and coworkers about my book. Ask your local library to put it in their circulation. Ask local book stores if they stock it. Enough of those little bits add up to some real numbers very quickly.<\/p>\n Last, give lots of copies as gifts. Everyone who can read needs one.
