The Gospel Of John, Chapter 18

This Easter season, I am presenting the Gospel of John. John tells the story of resurrection better than the others, and so it is logical to present his version of Christ as the focus is on the miracles, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

So, without further ado, the Gospel of John: Chapter 18.

I appreciate your coming to visit. I truly do. I ask but small favors:

First, pray for me. I am always in need of prayer.

If you like reading, I have four books I’ve written/edited/contributed to that are in need of purchase: ASSAULT ON SAINT AGNES, NICHOLAS OF HAITI, THE COVID QUARANTINE CANTINA, and REASONED RESILIENCY: A RATIONAL DEVOTIONAL FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

If you like the way this series sounds, I have a bunch of audio books available for purchase. They cover a wide range of topics. Some Christian, some very secular, most military thrillers, some science fiction and a book on keeping Kosher.  The language and stories are not always “G” rated, but they are some darned fine reads. You will find them at this link: Audible Works by Joseph Courtemanche.

Finally, look around the last few years of the blog and read some of the posts. If you like them, share them with others.

See you tomorrow.

A Brand New Audio Book For You

Get ready, 2024 is the year of the audio book around here. This one’s available now, another in about two weeks, and a third about three weeks after that!

But let’s start with MORE SUB TALES by Charles and Frank Hood. This is the third one of their books I’ve done, and the rest are in the production pipeline. It is the perfect listen for old bubbleheads, history fans, people who love military stuff. All true, no “tall tales” but factual goodies. Get some!

The authors of the Poopie Suits & Cowboy Boots series are pleased to announce the publication of More Sub Tales, the sequel to the immensely popular Sub Tales: Stories that Seldom Surface. More Sub Tales is the second of four books in our Sub Tales series, a collection of true stories about American submarines. Our other books are Poopie Suits & Cowboy Boots, The Silent Service Remembers (Vols. 1, 2, and 3), Sub Tales 3, and Sub Tales 4. All eight titles contain riveting accounts of the triumphs and tribulations of the US Submarine Force.

Each book features plenty of stories and personal recollections from the men who served. More Sub Tales joins the series with 36 new stories about the Silent Service, spanning more than a century of history from the experimental submarines conceived by Simon Lake in the late nineteenth century to the christening of the USS Hawaii (SSN-776) in 2006. Together these stories weave a compelling and instructive narrative of American submarines and the men who rode them.

More Sub Tales will entertain and inform the reader about key moments and milestones in the evolution of submarines. Learn about the many ordeals, sacrifices, and brave acts that represent the proud legacy of this underappreciated segment of our Armed Forces. Each story has been carefully vetted by more than two dozen veteran submariners for accuracy, and in most chapters, additional authenticity has been gained by interviewing actual participants. Care has been taken to omit what needs to remain classified, but in no way does such safeguarding get in the way of captivating storytelling.

The book has been written in clear language, and with explanations where relevant, to appeal to a wide-ranging audience beyond only those familiar with submarine service. The content is regularly updated; the most recent update was completed in October 2023.

Several chapters in More Sub Tales have appeared as feature stories in the USSVI quarterly publication, “American Submariner.”
